March 15th Rector of the University of Economics, Professor Andrzej Kaleta, will sign the plan of the Climate Reality Project team named 100% Committed, together with Professor Bożena Ryszawska - WUE Green Team leader and Miss Shooka Bidarian, the Climate Reality Project representative.
Professor Andrzej Kaleta declared that by 2030, the energy used at the university will come entirely from renewable sources. This is the first such commitment in Poland and we hope it will be one of many. The declaration of the Wrocław University of Economics comes at a time when the reality of the climate crisis and the means that have to be taken to resolve it, have never been more explicit. Only in this century we could observe the sixteen of the seventeen warmest years recorded in history, and 2016 was the warmest year.
“The reduction of CO2 emissions, mitigation of climate change and better quality of air is crucial for Polish citizens. One of the solutions is green energy transition. We would like to be a part of this process, intellectually in our science work and teaching and practically by creating a green campus. The proposal from Shooka Bidarian, a leader of the Climate Reality Project, emerged at the right moment. We look forward to working together!”
Bożena Ryszawska, leader of the Green Team at Wrocław University of Economics
