Studies in Finance are one of only a few European programmes certified in partnership with the Chartered Institute of
Management Accounting (CIMA) which allows our students to become CIMA-certified (Certificate in Business Accounting for the Bachelor Level, and Diploma in Management Accounting for the
Master level) by being exempted from module exams and by passing only one external exam, preparation to which is facilitated through the access to professional learning materials and in-campus
events. Professional certificates are what employers look for. They also give our students a unique chance to expand horizons and validate knowledge internationally.
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) was established in 1919 in London and currently is the largest professional organization of experts in the field of management
accounting. CIMA currently has 203,000 members and students in 173 countries. CIMA conducts qualifying examinations and issues international certificates. CIMA, together with AICPA has also
created a globally recognized title – CGMA – Chartered Global Management Accountant.
The Institute is growing rapidly, continually works with employers from around the world, and also issues specialized publications and reports from the field of management and
finance. Currently CIMA has over 243 examination centers around the world.
Management accounting is an important part of enterprise management, it provides data and information necessary to make current and strategic decisions on the profitability of the
company. In contrast to financial accounting, management accounting focuses mainly on forward-looking information to help in the planning process.
